My fridge / freezer is not working properly.

The appliances provided in our apartments are of similar quality across all Citydays accommodations. The instructions below therefore apply to most models available. In case of technical fault (connection issue, leak, breakdown, etc.), our technical team is available to assist you. Any problem due to misuse, lack of maintenance or abnormal use will be at your expense.

Understanding how it works

  • Find the model reference (often shown inside or on the side of the door).
  • Check the online manual for this model to identify the different settings and programmes.
  • If you cannot find the manual, fill in our incident report form and attach photos and a video so we can help you.

Common problems and solutions

1. Electrical connection

  • Make sure the fridge is plugged into a working socket.
  • Test the socket with another appliance.
  • Check the circuit breaker for the kitchen and fridge.

2. The fridge is noisy

  • Unplug the appliance.
  • Check that nothing is blocking the back of the fridge.
  • Make sure it is stable and level.
  • Plug it back in. (If the noise continues, contact our technical team.)

3. Frost is building up

If the problem continues, do a full defrost (recommended at least once a month):

  1. Switch it off and unplug it.
  2. Empty the fridge completely.
  3. Let the ice melt.
  4. Clean with warm soapy water (without wetting the bulb or drain).
  5. Clean the seals with clear water only.
  6. Dry, plug back in and switch on.
  7. Put your food back. ### 4. Water at the bottom of the fridge - Check the drain hole (above the vegetable drawer). - Make sure no food is touching the back wall of the fridge. - If blocked, clean it gently with a toothpick or a small piece of flexible wire. ### 5. The interior light does not work - Remove the bulb cover by pulling it forward. - Replace the bulb with a 10W, E14 type (available in supermarkets). - Put the cover back on. ### 6. The fridge is not cold enough - Lower the temperature using the internal thermostat. - Check that the door closes properly and the seals are not damaged. - Check the door seals: if air gets in, it encourages frost to form. ### Contact us via the "Report an incident" form with: - A photo of the fridge clearly showing the model. - A photo of the error code (if displayed). - A short video showing the problem. # If the problem persists Please fill in our incident report form and attach a photo or short video: Report an incident Our technical team will respond quickly if needed.
